Commercial Solar Energy Savings

With rising utility prices and a decrease in the cost of solar equipment, solar power is considerably less expensive than what you are currently paying the utilities.

3-5 Year Payback

The significance of your solar energy savings, paired with your substantial tax incentives, will allow you to pay off your solar systems in 3-5 years. After that, you will benefit from decades or clean, reliable and free solar electricity. Our average commercial customer saves more than $1 million in energy costs over the 25 year guaranteed life of the system.

15%+ Investment Return

Solar energy is an excellent investment for any commercial or nonprofit entity with returns that outperform any major asset class and exceed normal capital budgeting requirements. Solar power systems regularly deliver IRRs of 15%+ and do it with less risk than most other investment options.

Compelling Net Present Value

Net Present Value may provide the most straightforward understanding of the financial benefits from solar because it’s in present-day dollars. When clients compare an investment in solar against their other available options, solar systems typically yield NPVs that are hundreds of thousands of dollars higher than they expect. There are few options available that look as attractive.

Net Energy Metering

Net energy metering is a solar incentive that allows you to push the solar power you generate and do not use back into the utility grid and earn full retail value credit that can cover the cost of power being used at night when your system isn’t powering your business.

NEMA & NEMV

Aggregated and Virtual net energy metering are two new means of interconnection where we can install one large solar system and then virtually credit other utility meters located across adjacent parcels and/or properties.

Utility Rate Structures

Most utilities have started to mandate time-of-use rate schedules with higher electricity rates in the late afternoon and evenings and lower rates at night. Solar systems are designed to offset your usage and earn credits at these higher rate periods to more than cover the cost of the low priced power at night. We also integrate energy storage solutions to further enhance your savings by reducing utility demand charges.

California Self-Generation Incentive Program (SGIP)

To encourage more energy storage installations the CPUC has established the SGIP program to provide cash rebate incentives to help reduce the costs. Under SB 700 there will be roughly $166 million per year in incentives through 2025. These incentives only improve the financial savings from solar and are perfect for offsetting load spikes and peak demand utility charges.

The Process

At Solar Technologies, we’ve perfected the art of turning your complex energy usage and rate schedule data into a simple proposal so you can evaluate solar power for your organization in a few short minutes. If you decide to move forward, we’ll be with you every step of the way.

1. Feasibility Analysis

We conduct a full feasibility study analyzing your historical electrical usage, load profiles, usage patterns, utility billing data and areas of inefficiency to determine if solar is right for your organization.

2. Design & Engineering

Our in-house team of experts custom design solar power systems based on our feasibility study and your facility, financial objectives, sustainability goals and the applicable building codes. We use industry leading modeling and design software to ensure the accuracy of our work.

3. Financing

Our consultants work with you to determine the best financing options based on some of the following objectives: immediate cash flow, long-term savings, system ownership, third-party ownership, tax appetite, etc. Once you decide if a loan, lease, PPA or cash purchase is best we competitively bid providers to get you the best rates.

4. Construction

Our experienced teams of highly trained PMs, superintendents, foreman, electricians and installers will coordinate with your staff to install your system in a safe and efficient manner with minimal impact to your facility.
